What We Do

Our Facility

York Precast operates out of a brand-new plant in Nisku, AB, built central to every job site we serve.

The plant is designed around a single operating principle: the fewest hands on the panel from cast to truck. Every touch is a chance for a defect, an injury, or a deviation from spec, so we engineered most of them out.

Our tilting casting beds are among the longest in the region, which lets us cast wall panels up to 50 feet tall in a single piece. That means fewer joints, fewer connections, and cleaner finished facades. A dedicated rail system then carries panels through the yard, replacing the improvised rigging most plants rely on. And every pour draws from our own purpose-built batch plant, holding the concrete itself to a single consistent source.

The result is consistent quality on every panel, and capacity dedicated to holding the dates in your contract rather than negotiating around them.

Precast Concrete

Whatever the building needs the envelope to do, we build it into the panel before it leaves the plant. Cast-in finishes, reveals, formliner textures, and embeds are placed during the pour. We produce panels in the configurations and sizes a project actually needs, including the largest formats most facilities can’t accommodate. Where the geometry is unusual or the panelization isn’t obvious, we work the problem until we find an approach that delivers the design.

Benefits of Concrete

Built once. Lower insurance. Lower maintenance. Energy efficient. Concrete meets code in the toughest occupancies and delivers for 50 years.

Panel Systems

Every project needs something different from the wall. We cast the panel around that requirement, not the other way around.

Insulated Wall Panels

One panel delivers structure, continuous insulation, air and vapour control, and a finished interior surface. Insulation thickness is selected to hit the target, with assemblies reaching [R-XX to R-XX — confirm range] without thermal bridging through the wall.

Solid Wall Panels

Single-wythe structural panels for buildings where insulation lives elsewhere in the assembly or isn’t required at all. Designed loadbearing or as cladding, with the same finish options as our insulated panels.

Loadbearing or Cladding

Our panels can carry roof and floor loads directly, which removes perimeter steel from the structure and the schedule. Where the structure is already solved, the same panels hang as cladding. We design to whichever the project calls for.

Finishes Cast In, Not Applied After

The architectural finish happens in the form. Form liner textures, reveals and rustication, exposed aggregate, sandblast and acid etch, and integral colour are all placed during the pour. The panel arrives on site finished, which means no scaffolding, no second trade, and no weather window for exterior treatment. Interior faces arrive steel-trowel smooth and paint-ready, ready for direct application.

Performance You Can Spec

Fire resistance.
Ratings up to [X hours — confirm by panel thickness] without applied fireproofing. Fire resistance is a property of the panel, not a coating that can be damaged or missed.

Thermal performance.
Continuous insulation with no through-wall bridging in insulated assemblies, plus the thermal mass of concrete moderating interior temperature swings. [Effective R-value range — confirm.]

Durability.
[XX–XX MPa — confirm design strengths] air-entrained mixes batched on site for freeze-thaw resistance in a Prairie climate. Panels are designed for a [50-year — confirm design-life claim] service life with minimal maintenance.

Tested In-House

Quality control runs on every pour. Our purpose-built batch plant holds the concrete to spec on site, and each pour is verified with [slump, air content, and cylinder strength testing — confirm QC protocol]. The panel that ships matches the panel that was engineered, and we have the test records to show it.

Designed For You & Your Project

Experts

We’ve sat in every chair at the precast table: the designer, the developer, the builder, and the owner of the buildings. That breadth shapes both the product we make and the process we run. We design the panel a builder would want to install and an owner would want to live with, because we’ve been both.

Agility

Most precast jobs lose time before the first panel is poured. Shop drawings sit in revision queues and small design changes take weeks to acknowledge: the front end becomes the bottleneck. Our in-house design and drafting means we turn shop drawings fast and absorb tweaks without losing days to back-and-forth. Move fast at the front and precast moves fast on site

Commercial

Offices, retail, mixed-use. Architectural finishes that meet design intent without the cost of cast stone or composite cladding.

Industrial

Warehouses, manufacturing, distribution. Precast wall panels built for code, climate, and clear-span loading across Western Canada.

Municipal

Recreation centres, civil works, public buildings. Specification-grade precast, stamped and documented for public-sector procurement.

Industrial

Plant operators, distribution, manufacturing. Concrete envelopes built for the loads, climate, and expansion timelines your facility actually runs on. The panel goes in. The building stays running for fifty years.

General Contractors

You live and die on the date. Schedule certainty. Field coordination. RFI response that doesn’t slow your build. Panels arrive site-ready, in the sequence your foundation needs them.

Developers

Precast locks your proforma: fixed-price panels, faster to occupancy, predictable from concept to handover. Less time between groundbreaking and rent roll.

Architects

Spec to the panel, not around it. Architectural finishes, reveals, and embeds cast in from the start. Tolerances controlled by plant casting, not site weather. Drawings developed for your project, not pulled from a catalogue.

Businesses

You’re building your own facility, not flipping it. Brand-grade finishes, faster occupancy, lower insurance and maintenance over the next fifty years. The building you own should outlast the loan that built it.

Municipalities

Procurement has rules. We work to them. Panels manufactured to project specifications with full QC documentation at every stage of production. Long-life buildings that earn their budget over the next fifty years.
